Dear Young Single Woman

July 26, 2014 by amanda Leave a Comment

Dear beautiful young Christian woman,

You have my heart, you know? You feel a rush of joy in your soul and a knot in your stomach as you look across the horizon of your twenties and soon-to-come-thirties. You wait in expectation and with high hopes for the future and for good things to come.

And I’ve not met a one of you yet who’s not a little anxious to meet Mr. Right. Most of you shyly grin that, although you have lots of public goals and after-high-school dreams and post-college-ambitions, your BIG dream is to meet the right man. Someday be a wife. Someday have a little house. Someday be a mom….

Becoming Mrs. Right

April 3, 2014 by amanda 6 Comments

Oh boy. I am really excited to be sharing my heart with you in this post on “Becoming Mrs. Right!” We set the stage in previous posts in this series in discussing God’s emphasis on holiness and purity, on waiting for Mr. Right, and on what to look for in Mr. Right (parts one and two). Today, I am really excited to dig into “Becoming Mrs. Right.”

You know that laundry list of items in the posts on “Have I Found Mr. Right?” parts 1 and 2? Well, God’s standards are for women as well, so we might as well go back and re-read those and ask God to apply them to our own hearts and lives! There are, however, some specifics I’d like to talk about to encourage you in becoming a woman who will bring God glory, specifically in respect to your role as wife to Mr. Right….

Have I Found Mr. Right? (part 2 of 2)

April 2, 2014 by amanda 1 Comment

I’m continuing in our series for my single Christian sisters on Finding Mr. Right. Today, in part two of the topic on “Have I found Mr. Right?,” I want to cover a laundry list of items for you to work through in determining whether or not you have found Mr. Right.

Honestly, I hesitate for this to feel like a “checklist.” I myself cringe at the thought of being judged and “graded” by my fellow man, and judging others’ conduct on a 10-point scale is not in our job description as Christians!

However, dating and pre-marriage relationships among Christians are a time to seek God’s wisdom in discerning, “Have I found Mr. Right?” You’ve heard it said to enter marriage with your eyes wide open, but then spend your married years with your eyes half shut? Well, now is the time to ask God to open your eyes to know His will and His plan for your future, and to lead you to walk in His will for you. Seek Him through His word and prayer and the counsel of godly Christian mentors as you grow in your relationship with a potential Mr. Right….

April 2, 2014 by amanda Leave a Comment

If you’re already in a relationship or are interested in a guy, you may be asking yourself, “Have I found Mr. Right?” Well, I have a big piece of advice from my heart to yours today.

I’ve already talked about the importance of understanding the gospel as paramount to our ability to honor God in our dating relationships. We also talked about leaning on God when “Mr. Right Is Taking His Time” and “Honoring God in the Dating Relationship.”  Today I want to point you to scripture and hopefully share some wisdom with you for figuring out that big question: “Have I found Mr. Right?” There’s so much material that I want to share with you that I have made this post into two sections (parts 1 and 2). I’m praying that it will bless and serve you. <3

Here is what Mr. Right will look like… (Are you ready??!)…

Honoring God in the Dating Relationship

March 31, 2014 by amanda 1 Comment

He’s Taking His Time.. What’s a Single Christian Woman to Do?

March 31, 2014 by amanda 93 Comments

Well, Mr. Right is taking his time. You’re a single Christian gal. You’re busy serving the Lord, waiting on God while you tend to the work and life with which He has blessed you. You’d like to get married, and, like most young women, you dream of marrying your best friend, loving him the rest of your days, and sharing a family, life, love, children, and the happiest and saddest of days with the man of your dreams.

And there’s this guy. He’s single, a Christian, godly, and wise. He looks like Mr. Potential — and you like him. But maybe he’s shy, and maybe it looks like he might be very s.l.o.w. to ever make that first move.

What’s a Christian girl to do?…
